Not the official labelling
The prescribing information reproduced on this site is quoted from the Structured Product Labeling the manufacturer submitted to the FDA, as distributed through the openFDA labelling dataset. It is a snapshot: labels are revised, and the version shown may no longer be current. Some sections are truncated for display.
The manufacturer's current package insert, and the FDA's own labelling at DailyMed, are the authoritative documents. Where they disagree with this site, they control.
Not a safety ranking
Adverse event report counts are raw totals from a spontaneous reporting system. They do not demonstrate that a drug caused any event, and they are strongly influenced by how many people take a drug, how long it has been marketed and how much attention it receives. Listing a medication near the top of a report-count ordering is not a statement that it is dangerous. See the methodology.
No warranty
The data is assembled automatically from public sources. It may contain errors introduced by the source, by the transformation, or by name-based joins between datasets that do not share a common identifier — biologic and veterinary attributions in particular are approximate and labelled as such.

Reporting a problem
If you believe a medication is missing, mis-joined or mis-attributed, the source datasets linked from data sources are the place to verify first — this site does not add or alter clinical content. Adverse events in humans should be reported to the FDA through the MedWatch program; veterinary events through the manufacturer or the FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine.
Copyright and licensing
The underlying datasets are works of the United States federal government and are not subject to copyright protection in the United States. Attribution and licensing detail for each is listed on data sources. Third-party trademarks and brand names remain the property of their respective owners and are used here only to identify the products the FDA records describe.
